Todd Temkin Now A Weekly Columnest for El Mercurio

On March 14, 2008, Todd Temkin, the president of Fundación Valparaíso, became a weekly opinion columnest for El Mercurio Valparaíso, the regional newspaper, where his words and thoughts appear every Friday.

Temkin, a North American poet, was nominated in 2001 and again in 2002 as the “Personaje del Año de la Quinta Región” (Person of the Year in the 5th Region) by the Mercurio. He discusses subjects such as cultural heritage, tourism, and community development within the city in his weekly column.

Temkin holds a Master in Arts from the University of Minnesota and is distinguished as a prominant writer by the Academy of North American Poets. He has also published a collection of his poems in a book called “Crazy Denizens of the Lost World.”
